Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take credit cards?
Lowcountry Lazy Charters does take credit cards. We also take check or cash. Payment is due at end of trip. There is a 4% fee for credit card transactions — see our Policies page for full payment terms.
What if it rains?
Lowcountry Lazy Charters does not cancel trips due to rain. If the weather is not safe at the time of departure, we will do our best to reschedule your trip (subject to availability). Please read the weather cancellation policy for further details, and dress weather appropriate — your comfort will have an impact on how much you enjoy your experience.
Do you guarantee fish?
No. Although the goal is for you to have a great experience, with a trip of a lifetime, Mother Nature does not always play along. Captain Shane does guarantee to do his best to find and catch fish as conditions dictate.
What should I bring?
Everything you need to fish with is already provided, and all licensing is provided — nothing further is required. There is a large cooler on board, stocked with ice and water, and you're welcome to store your beverages in it. You should bring: sunscreen (please avoid spray lotions, as they turn the boat yellow and may cause a slip hazard); any drink of your preference other than the provided water (please avoid glass, as it's a hazard on board if broken); storage for your catch if you'd like to keep fish; and towels, sunglasses, and anything else for your personal comfort. The Captain cannot provide medications, so Dramamine is recommended if you're prone to sea sickness.
Can we keep fish, and will you clean it?
Yes — you're allowed to keep 1 (one) person's limit of Red Drum (state size regulations apply) and the state limit per person for all other species (Trout, Flounder, Sheepshead, Black Drum, etc.). Size regulations must always be adhered to, and the Captain is not responsible for a client's catch. If it's not big enough, throw it back.
Can I extend my trip once I start?
Yes you can! There is a $100 per hour charge, and it is subject to availability.
